Australia includes Glenn Maxwell & Mitchell Marsh for ODIs with India

Australia has included Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh in the 16-man squad for the ODI series of three matches which follows the Border-Gavaskar test series. Both of them are returning after an extended time in the hospital suffering ankle and leg injuries, respectively.

Maxwell and Marsh were both out during the Big Bash League with injuries. The former injured his leg during a freak accident at a celebration after the T20 World Cup. Marsh on his part underwent keyhole surgery on his left ankle in order to remove loose bone fragments and replace cartilage.

The national selectors of Cricket Australia have also welcomed the return of the fast-bowler Jhye Richardson, who was unable to play in the BBL finals due to an injury to his hamstring, and Josh Hazlewood misses out with an Achilles strain that he sustained when he ran on the muddy SCG outfield in the New Year’s Day Test against South Africa.

David Warner, who was recently excluded from the two final Tests of Indore and Ahmedabad because of a broken elbow was selected in the team of Pat Cummins. Also, Ashton Agar was released from the squad for Test cricket in order to play domestic cricket.

The three-match series scheduled to take place on March 17 in Mumbai (March 17), Visakhapatnam (March 19), and Chennai (March 22) complete an entire 50-day tour through India in preparation for Australia. The team could be in for a World Test Championship final to take place in June, before playing in the marquee of the Ashes series.
